We already know that Greg Hardy is going to clean out the heavyweight division and become the greatest of all time, but in the process, he’s going to do the one thing current 265-pound kingpin, Daniel Cormier, never could.
Defeat Jon Jones.
That’s according to the “Prince of Pain,” who told TMZ that he can’t consider himself the best in the world until Jones is eliminated. Assuming, of course, “Bones” actually makes good on that oft-teased move to the heavyweight division.
“It’s impossible not to dream of Greg Hardy vs. Jon Jones for the heavyweight title after he’s done finishing off the light heavyweight division,” Hardy said. “He’s a great dude, a great competitor, but I’m here to clean out the whole division and anyone who wants to join it. I’m here to be the greatest combat sports heavyweight of all time, and if that includes taking out Jon Jones to do that, then that’s what I’ve got to do.”
The first thing he’s got to do is take out Juan Adams at the UFC on ESPN 4 event this Sat. night (July 20, 2019) inside AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, and then beat someone ranked in the Top 15, then Top 10, then Top 5 …
Safe to say we’re a long way from Hardy vs. Jones, and the “Prince of Pain” is going to have to get in line behind other heavyweight killers with the same future plans, like power-punching former title contender, Francis Ngannou.
