Greg Hardy has a bone to pick with Derrick Lewis.

When UFC President Dana White made the unpopular decision to sign Hardy after a couple of big knockouts on “Contender Series,” Lewis told the combat sports media that “Prince of War” was going to get beaten like a battered spouse.

Probably because of this.

“He ran his mouth,” Hardy told MMA Junkie. “Say my name and I’m coming for you. The boss is going to send me. That’s a guy that wasn’t mentioned but decided to grace his fat, Popeyes, greasy chicken lips with my name when I was a peasant, when I was a young child. What it would look like for me to go attack somebody that just came off the Contender Series right now? You’d be like, ‘Oh, he’s childish.’ But you guys let that man gyrate and beat little me? Nah, he needs to be handled.”

If Hardy wants to exact revenge against Lewis he’ll need to work his way up the heavyweight rankings, starting with his Tai Tuivasa fight at the UFC 264 pay-per-view (PPV) on Sat. night (July 10) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“He’s an ex-con that doesn’t know when to shut up,” Hardy continued. “I’m going to put him down when I need to. Of course, timing is everything. I’m still not there yet. I’m willing to admit he’s the better man right now, but he’s still a fatty. That guy, he’s the kind of guy who waits until the third round, plays possum, and then throws a bunch of haymakers, bro. That’s MMA to you?”

Lewis has a chance to capture the interim heavyweight strap when he collides with fellow 265-pound contender Ciryl Gane in the upcoming UFC 265 headliner next month in Houston. The winner will move on to unify the titles opposite Francis Ngannou.

“It’s Mr. Popeyes,” Lewis responded on Instagram. “And I’m not fat I’m husky (thicc).”
