“We’re okay,” Lewis wrote on Instagram.
I don’t know what it is about my brain that makes me hear the Wipeout song from The Fat Boys Surfaris every time I see a video of someone losing control of their equipment, but I’m happy to report this footage from UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis was no exception.
Lewis attempted to take one of his kids for a quad ride, and I’m not sure if the little pipsqueak had been playing too much ATV Off Road Fury or simply smacked into the throttle by accident, but “The Black Beast” was unprepared and shit got scary in a hurry.
Not to be “that guy” BUT … wear a helmet.
The fact that Lewis and Co. emerge unscathed undoubtedly comes as a relief to fellow UFC heavyweight Curtis Blaydes, who is hoping to blast his way into title contention when he tangles with Lewis on one of the promotion’s upcoming ESPN cards in November.
A city and venue for that showdown is still pending.
