I don’t know what a meth head looks like, outside of those awful “before and after” pics on Google, so I can’t say for sure whether or not Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker, fits the bill.
I’ll leave those determinations to experts like Israel Adesanya.
That was the scouting report from “The Last Stylebender” ahead of his UFC 243 pay-per-view (PPV) main event against “The Reaper,” which takes place Sat., Oct. 5, 2019 inside a venue to be named somewhere in Australia.
“At the staredown, he just reminded me of like a meth head,” Adesanya told MMA Junkie. “When you look into someone’s eyes and you’re just like, yeah, and I’m looking at him like okay, cool. He’s a guy, he’s been here, he’s tough, he’s a vet in this game, so I don’t have to try and get under his skin. He’s not under my skin, and he says he doesn’t think about me, and I don’t want him to. I don’t expect him to.”
See the staredown in question right here.
Whittaker apparently thought about him enough to offer his opinion on Adesanya’s unanimous decision win over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 back in April, which gave the Nigerian the interim middleweight strap.
Whittaker has been on the sidelines since last June after going through another round of medical problems. In fact, his UFC 225 win over Yoel Romero marks his only Octagon fight over the last two years, which could be a factor in his late fall return.
We’ll find out in less than three months.
