Sean Brady isn’t a fan of “The Future” at all.

Brady got back into the win column last night at UFC Austin (Sat., Dec. 2, 2023) when he spoiled Kelvin Gastelum’s return to Welterweight by dominating him for three rounds and then tapped him with a nasty kimura from inside Moody Center in Austin, Texas (watch highlights).
It was a fantastic bounce-back performance for Brady after he lost some of his hype when he got finished by Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 last year.

After the fight, the Philadelphia native had a name locked and loaded: Ian Garry. During his post-fight interview with the media, Brady explained why he wants to fight the Irish prospect.

“Just the way he went about his whole thing with his team, it rubbed me the wrong way. He rubs the sport the wrong way,” Brady said. “I’m a true professional in the sport, and I just don’t like the way he walks around with the cameras and goes into the gym- he’s getting kicked out of Leon Edwards’ gym. Like he’s just always talking s-it about people, and it’s wack. I think he’s wack, and I’ll ragdoll him. I think he’s the easiest fight in the division. So if he can get through Vicente Luque, which I don’t think he will, because Luque is an amazing fighter. I heard they’re coming to Atlantic City in March. So we’ll see…if he wants to get into it on social media, it is what it is. But when we get into that cage, I’m going to do the same thing that I just did to Kelvin to him.”

A fight between Brady and Garry is very much possible, with both Weltwerweights ranked inside of the Top 10- Brady is No. 9, and Garry is No. 10.

Garry fights No. 8 Vicente Luque in two weeks at UFC 289, and with a win or loss, he will have plenty of fighters to choose from, including Brady.

That is if he doesn’t move up to Middleweight to fight Sean Strickland first.
