Connor and Phil break down the results of UFC Sao Paulo, and touch on some topics suggested by you, the listeners.
UFC 229 is right around the corner, and while we would normally split a massive, tentpole pay-per-view like that into two episodes, the undercard just doesn’t merit it. So, you might be thinking, this is a perfect time to cover the upcoming Bellator 206! But, uh… we forgot about that one. Not to worry, though–we discussed that legitimately very good card in depth, covering MacDonald-Mousasi, Jackson-Silva, Lima-Koreshkov 3, and Pico-Higo. You can find that analysis over on the Heavy Hands Patreon, or listen to a teaser here. Until then, enjoy our discussion of UFC Sao Paulo, and a few questions from our patrons. Topics include:
- A pathologically violent Thiago Santos, and the bright future ahead of him at light heavyweight
- The sad, sad fall of Renan Barao
- Little Nog rides again!
- How we feel about watching a sport surrounded and populated by so many amoral/immoral people
- How the “average” fighter can overcome a far superior athlete
Also, an important note: you are likely reading this on BloodyElbow.com. Future episodes will be published on the Connor Ruebusch Youtube channel, but also on all of the usual podcast distributors–now including Spotify! Don’t worry folks; Heavy Hands isn’t going anywhere.
