Bellator 206: “Bader vs. Mitrione” comes to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Fri., Oct. 12, 2018, featuring the continuation of the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion’s ongoing Heavyweight Grand Prix. Although they are friends outside of the Bellator cage, Ryan Bader (25-5) and Matt Mitrione (13-5) were destined to meet inside of it, colliding in Bellator 206’s main event for the right to advance to the final.
Bader advanced to the semifinals by crushing King Mo in 15 seconds at Bellator 199. Mitrione, meanwhile, had a much harder road to the next round. He faced “Big Country” Roy Nelson in a rematch of a fight that took place under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner, which Nelson won via technical knockout in 2012. After a hard-fought three rounds back in February, Mitrione moved on via majority decision to earn this next fight against “Darth.”
At this early moment no other matches have been announced by Bellator for the “Bader vs. Mitrione” card. Rest assured, though, we will bring up-to-date card information as soon as it’s made available.
