After nearly a year off from action, Benson Henderson will return to the cage to face off against former Bellator MMA Lightweight champion, Brent Primus, at the upcoming Bellator 268 event on Oct. 16, 2021 in Phoenix, AZ.
“Smooth” hasn’t competed since losing to Jason Jackson at Bellator 258 in Nov. 2020 in a Welterweight affair. The loss was Henderson’s second in a row, coming up short against Michael Chandler prior to that. Now, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion of the world looks to pick up a much-needed win against another former title holder.
Primus, meanwhile, is coming off tough split decision defeat at the hands of Islam Mamedov, which went down at Bellator 263 just two months ago. The loss snapped Primus’ second straight loss.
Bellator 268 will feature a Light Heavyweight title fight between division champion Vadim Nemkov taking on hard-hitting wrecking machine Anthony Johnson. In the co-main event, Heavyweight champion Ryan Bader will face Corey Anderson. The winner of each of those match ups will face off against one another in the finals of the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix later this year.
