Henry Cejudo is set to make his second attempt at a UFC debut.
The 2008 Olympic wrestling gold medalist will meet Dustin Kimura in a bantamweight bout at UFC on FOX 13 in Phoenix on Dec. 13. AZCentral.com broke news of the bout on Monday.
The 27-year-old Cejudo (6-0) entered the UFC was a fair bit of hype after blitzing his way to six wins in less than a year. But he also developed a track record of trouble reaching the flyweight limit.
Those issues followed him to the UFC, where he was hospitalized due to a weight cut gone awry on the eve of UFC 177 in Sacramento, which scuttled his planned bout with Scott Jorgensen.
But Cejudo, who trains in Phoenix, will get his chance for a fresh start at 135, where he began his MMA career. There’s he’ll be met by Kimura (11-2). Kimura is 2-2 in the UFC. He dropped a decision to George Roop on April 16 in his most recent fight.
