It looks like the UFC has some decisions to make with two of their titles sometime soon. Henry Cejudo, who claimed a second UFC belt by stopping Marlon Moraes at UFC 238, underwent shoulder surgery today and he’s not going to be back for a while.

According to ESPN, Cejudo needed surgery on the subscapularis muscle, which is the busiest muscle in the shoulder. The prognosis says that he’ll be back to training in four to five months. That’s late October to late November, so early 2020 seems like a logical return time to the Octagon, barring any setbacks.

It was noted that Cejudo suffered a leg injury just prior to the Moraes fight as well. But he won’t need surgery on that.

Cejudo (15-2, 9-2 UFC) dubbed himself “Triple C” after claiming the 135-pound belt. He has held the 125-pound belt since beating Demetrious Johnson via split decision last August. And of course, he’s very fond of telling people that he’s an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling.

Will the UFC book interim title fights in either division? Is this even more of a death knell for the fledgling flyweight division? We’ll have to wait and see.
