The middleweight contender’s bout has been pushed back a week to the UFC Vegas 27 Fight Night card, headlined by Cody Garbrandt vs. Rob Font.

This week’s UFC PPV card has just taken another hard hit to the lineup. Alongside the news that a planned welterweight bout between Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards had to be pushed back to UFC 263 in June, it now seems that a top flight middleweight bout between Jack Hermansson and Edmen Shahbazyan has been forced from the card as well.

The news broke following a report from MMA DNA’s Marcel Dorff on Twitter, shortly confirmed thereafter by Shahbazyan himself.

No reason for the change has been made as of yet. Hermansson was entering the bout fresh off a December loss to Marvin Vettori in the headlining slot of UFC Vegas 16. For Shahbazyan, this bout was to mark his first return to action since a TKO loss to Derek Brunson in August of last year.

UFC 262 is set to feature a fight for the vacant lightweight title between all-time UFC submission win leader Charles Oliveira and former Bellator champion Michael Chandler. A lightweight bout between former interim champ Tony Ferguson and Kings MMA talent Beneil Dariush is set for the co-main event.
