Jack Hermansson wants Kelvin Gastelum following his win over Jacare Souza.
After his big win at UFC Fort Lauderdale over Jacare Souza, Jack Hermansson is targeting a fight with fellow top contender Kelvin Gastelum next.
Hermansson (20-4) extended his winning streak to four in the UFC with his recent decision win over Souza. “The Joker” picked up consecutive submission wins over David Branch and Gerald Meerschaert before that.
Talking to BJPenn.com, Hermansson explained why he wants a fight between Paulo Costa and Yoel Romero next.
”I’ve been thinking more and more about it and I think the Costa and Romero fight has to happen, so maybe Gastelum would be a good one next,” Hermansson said.
The Swede assessed how he would do in a fight with Gastelum, and Hermansson feels he will have a big advantage if the fight reaches the mat.
”His grappling is alright but it’s his striking that’s his bread and butter. He’s a really good boxer and that’s his main strength.” Hermansson said. “Of course he has good wrestling as well. I think it’s gonna be challenging to put him on the ground, but I think I’m gonna have a big advantage when I put him [there].”
