Looking to one-up Chase Sherman for early “Knockout of the Night,” Brian Kelleher brought the “Boom” to UFC Jacksonville, stopping Hunter Azure with a nasty left hook in the second round of their Featherweight bout.
Azure — who was making his UFC debut — was looking pretty good through the first five minutes, mixing up his game against the UFC veteran. In round two, though, Kelleher caught Azure slipping with his right hand down, taking the small window of opportunity to clip him with a nice left hook that put him out for the count. Two unnecessary hammerfists later and the referee had no choice but to call off a celebratory Kelleher.
That’s now two straight stoppage wins for Kelleher, while Azure suffers the first loss of his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career after reeling off eight wins in a row.
