Earlier today (Sat., Oct. 12, 2024), Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) made its promotional debut in Marbella Arena in Marbella, Spain for the BKFC Spain event. On the preliminary portion of the card, there was an unusual match up between MMA media members Oscar Willis and Ben Davis.

Willis works for The Mac Life and is a MMA Journalist of the Year nominee. He’s also fought in amateur MMA once previously. Davis, meanwhile, is best known for his commentary work for various promotions on UFC Fight Pass and has competed in an influencer boxing match. Adding to the spectacle was the fact that Conor McGregor was in attendance for the fight, cheering on his employee Willis.

As one might expect of a bare knuckle fight between inexperienced combatants, this one didn’t last long. Willis was the bigger man and used that to his advantage immediately, swarming Davis with a chaotic blitz of punches. Davis tried to stand his ground, but he couldn’t withstand the strikes coming his way.

It was an easy night of corner work for Dan Hooker.

“The Bane” showed good heart in returning to his feet three times, but after the fourth knockdown in the very first round, the referee called the fight. Nearly the whole fight and all four knockdowns can be viewed in the video player above.
