You will not be disappointed watching the highlights of Juan Francisco Estrada vs. ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez.
Incredible!
Juan Francisco Estrada (42-3, 28 KOs) and Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez (50-3, 42 KOs) waged war in one of the greatest fights in recent memory and certainly the runaway leader for 2021 Fight of the Year. They threw a combined 2529 punches (that is not a typo), landed 705, and arguably had three Round of the Year candidates in what was a truly sensational WBC and WBA super-flyweight unification title bout.
In the end, Mexico’s Estrada got the split decision over Gonzalez to avenge his 2012 defeat. While 115-113 for either fighter seemed plenty justifiable, the 117-111 in Estrada’s favor was just classic Texas judging that really does put a damper on what was an instant classic.
