Khalil Rountree Jr. is out, Carlos Ulberg is in.
Just a few days after “War Horse” was forced to withdraw due to a wonky drug test, “Black Jag” has volunteered to step up and trade leather with former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill in the UFC 303 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, locked and loaded for Sat., June 29, 2024 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
New Zealand Herald first reported the booking on Thursday.
Hill (12-2, 1 NC) is just a couple of weeks removed from his knockout loss to Alex Pereira as part of the UFC 300 extravaganza in “Sin City.” As for Ulberg (10-1), he captured his sixth straight win by planishing Alonzo Menifield at UFC St. Louis back on May 6. That gives both fighters just over a month to prepare for their UFC 303 showdown.
Which is probably going to end long before the final bell.
UFC 303 will be headlined by the welterweight collision between former 155-pound champion Conor McGregor and all-action lightweight contender Michael Chandler. Elsewhere on the card, Cub Swanson and Andre Fili hook ‘em up at featherweight, not long after Joe Pyfer and Marc-Andre Barriault collide at 185 pounds.
