It looks like the next chapter in Holly Holm’s MMA progression will play out in San Diego.
A bout between the undefeated Holm and Marion Reneau is in the planning stages for the July 15 UFC Fight Night card at the Valley View Casino Center. MMAFighting.com‘s Ariel Helwani reported the news of the potential bantamweight matchup on Wednesday’s edition of UFC Tonight.
Holm, the former multi-weight class world boxing champion, is 8-0 with six finishes since making the jump over to MMA. Holm’s UFC debut was a split-decision win at UFC 184 against Raquel Pennington at UFC 184.
Reneau (6-1), meanwhile, has been making her name on proving her detractors wrong. The 37-year old from Visalia, Calif. was told she was too old to join the cast of The Ultimate Fighter 18, so she’s gone out and earned her spot. Reneau has five finishes among her six victories and has UFC wins over Alexis Dufresne and Jessica Andrade.
