The UFC’s October 3rd card has its main event, and it’s a fight that was supposed to happen earlier this month.

During Saturday’s UFC 252 broadcast, the promotion announced that a women’s bantamweight fight between former champion Holly Holm and Irene Aldana has been re-booked from its original August 1st date. Aldana was forced to withdraw from the matchup after testing positive for COVID-19.

Holm (13-5) has not competed since a decision win in her rematch with Raquel Pennington at UFC 246. After a three-fight losing streak which included losing her title to Miesha Tate, Holm has since alternated wins and losses over her last six fights. Two of her last three losses have been title fights against Germaine de Randamie (at featherweight) and Amanda Nunes (at bantamweight).

Aldana (12-5) had a spectacular knockout of Ketlen Vieira in what was the biggest win of her career at UFC 245. After an 0-2 start in the UFC, the Mexican has won five of her last six bouts and looks to be primed for a title shot if she is able to get the better of “The Preacher’s Daughter.”

No venue or location has been announced for this UFC Fight Night show, but it’ll likely be streamed on ESPN+.
