Tyson’s most famous opponent is 2-0 over ‘Iron Mike,’ and wants to give him one more chance to beat him in the ring.

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have extensive history together in boxing, and if Evander has his way, there’ll still be one more chapter to tell.

Tyson and Holyfield have already fought twice. In 1996 Holyfield put a stop to Tyson’s big post-jail comeback run, snapping “Iron Mike’s” four fight win streak and taking the WBA heavyweight title off him in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. They would rematch seven months later, where Tyson would bite a chunk out of Holyfield’s ear and get disqualified.

Now that Evander has seen how much money and hoopla Tyson’s match against Jake Paul created, he once again wants to give Mike a chance to win one back on him. He posted a picture of the two in their prime on Instagram labeled “The Trilogy,” along with a video of Tyson after the Paul fight saying he wasn’t ready to retire.

“The fans want it,” Holyfield claimed, adding the hashtag #unfinishedbusiness.

We might have wanted it back in the 90s, but unless a time machine is on hand we don’t know if we want it any more. Holyfield had his own Jake Paul incident back in 2021 when Triller booked the 59-year-old “Real Deal” up against a jacked to the gills Vitor Belfort in his 40s.

Unlike Paul with Tyson, Belfort did not take it easy on Holyfield. He pummeled the aged legend for the minute and a half the fight lasted, and it felt like a very shameful thing to let happen.

At least Tyson vs. Holyfield would be a battle of geriatrics on equal footing, or what’s left of their footing as both men hobble around on shot knees. Alas, Tyson has too much love for Holyfield these days.

“I love you brother,” Tyson wrote in the comments. “But the trilogy is our friendship.”

That’s kind of beautiful, man.
