All the information you need on Saturday’s Manny Pacquiao vs. Yordenis Ugas fight.

Tonight (Saturday, Aug. 21) T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada plays host to a PPV boxing event that features one of the all-time greats of the sport. Eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KOs) takes on short notice replacement Yordenis Ugas (26-4, 12 KOs) in a 12-rounder for the WBA welterweight title.

Pacquiao was originally down to fight WBC/IBF champion Errol Spence Jr before Spence withdrew with a retinal tear. Ugas was already scheduled to be in the co-main event, so he had a training camp going but this is a big upgrade in opponent from Fabian Maidana. The Cuban is a very formidable for for Manny and may yet upset the odds, but obviously the name value for him is much smaller than that of Spence.

The other storyline here beyond the actual fight is the future of Pacquiao in professional boxing. At 41 years of age, Pacquiao is obviously not in the prime of his career even though he is still fighting at a high level. There has been talk that this may be the farewell for Pacquiao after one of the most accomplished and remarkable careers ever. We’ll see how much he has left in the tank and whether he can turn in a vintage Pacman performance against Ugas.
