Check out all the ways you can watch UFC 239.
UFC 239 comes live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, July 6th. With it comes two title defenses from a pair of fighters who have shown unprecedented dominance within their corners of the sport.
The main event includes the refreshingly active Jon Jones, who will look to defend his UFC light heavyweight belt for the second time; since reclaiming the title in a bout with Alexander Gustafsson last year. Jones’ challenger this time around is former middleweight Thiago ‘Marreta’ Santos. The Brazilian earned his shot at ‘Bones’ after clubbing his way to victory in the first three 205 lb fights of his UFC career (versus Eryk Anders, Jimi Manuwa, and Jan Blachowicz).
The co-main event sees the bantamweight title on the line as double-champ Amanda Nunes defends versus former champ Holly Holm. This is Nunes’ first fight at 135 lbs since she went up in weight to dethrone former featherweight champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino. Holm gets the title shot here despite going 2-4 since her historic head kick KO victory over Ronda Rousey in 2015.
Holm’s last fight was a decision win over Megan Anderson at featherweight. Prior to that she lost to Cyborg. Her last bantamweight contest was a highlight reel KO against Bethe Correia two years ago.
Rounding out the UFC 238 pay-per-view is a welterweight battle — with lots of canned heat — between Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren, the light heavyweight debut of Luke Rockhold (who meets Jan Blachowicz), and a welterweight bout between vintage TUF winners Diego Sanchez and Michael Chiesa.
The prelim card starts at 8:00PM ET. That portion of the event culminates in a featherweight fight between Arnold Allen and former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez. Before that Marlon Vera takes on Nohelin Hernandez at bantamweight, Claudia Gadelha meets Randa Markos at strawweight, and Alejandro Perez fights Song Yadong at bantamweight.
The early prelim card is scheduled to start at 6:15 PM ET. The featured early prelim is a middleweight showdown between Edmen Shahbazyan and Jack Marshman. Opening the show are fights between Ismail Naurdiev and Chance Rencountre (welterweight) and Pannie Kianzad and Julia Avila (bantamweight).
