Donald Trump will lend his unique voice to Triller’s upcoming boxing event pitting Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort.
Holyfield vs. Belfort headlines an impending boxing card, taking place inside Hard Rock Seminole in Hollywood, Fla., on Sat., Sept. 11, 2021, streaming online via Triller pay-per-view (PPV) via FITE TV. Triller made a surprise announcement on Tuesday revealing that Trump will “host and commentate” the event, according to MMA Junkie.
“I love great fighters and great fights,” Trump said in a press release. “I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won’t want to miss this special event.”
Trump is a combat sports fan with a close relationship to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White. He became the first active U.S. President to attend a UFC event when he sat cageside for UFC 244 (watch here), headlined by Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal.
Holyfield (44-10-2-1, boxing) has not competed in professional boxing since a 2011 technical knockout (TKO) win over Brian Nielsen on May 7, 2011. The 58-year-old boxing legend is an Olympic medalist and the only four-time world heavyweight boxing champion.
Belfort (26-14-0-1, MMA) is a former UFC Light Heavyweight titleholder and multiple-time title challenger. He is also an undefeated pro boxer; however, he competed only time in the sport in 2006, defeating Josemario Neves via first-round knockout (KO).
