Marvel
Not all heroes wear capes (but they should).
Marvel Comics just turned the UFC 243 main event into a comic book, featuring middleweight “heroes” Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya. “The Reaper” will defend his division title against “The Last Stylebender” — holder of the interim strap — in Saturday night’s (Oct. 5, 2019) pay-per-view (PPV) main event from inside Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
You may recall the UFC 181 PPV event also got the comic book treatment roughly five years back (see that artwork here), when Johny Hendricks battled Robbie Lawler for the welterweight title. That piece was commissioned by DC shortly before Marvel took over the superhero world with its “Avengers” franchise. To be honest, I wish I could snap my fingers and make half of these mediocre “Fight Night” cards disappear, but then I would probably be out of a job, so I’ll just sit here and complain about it instead.
