“I don’t care about what the talk says. I love that fight.”

UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou doesn’t care much for politics, or drama — he just knows that he wants to fight Jon Jones.

Just about everyone in the MMA sphere wants to see this fight except for UFC president Dana White, who claims that ‘Bones’ will never fight for the heavyweight title.

Although White may have given up on the idea of Jones competing at heavyweight, Ngannou hasn’t. ‘The Predator’ told TMZ Sports recently that he wants to defend his title against Jones rather than Derrick Lewis and is excited at the prospect of beating one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters of all time.

“I want Jon Jones,” Ngannou said (h/t Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie). “Definitely. … I don’t care about what the talk says. I love that fight.”

“I have some size, too. I’m strong, too. I’m impressed (with his move to heavyweight). I know he’s very skilled, very talented. I respect that. But we are both men, and we’re going to find out.”

Jones can’t seem to come to an agreement with the UFC on his next paycheck, but the former UFC light heavyweight champ recently brought on board former Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer in hopes of making his heavyweight dream become a reality. The JacksonWink standout hasn’t fought since his 2020 title defense against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247, which saw Jones retain the light heavyweight title in a highly contested unanimous decision.
