“Rumble” had an initial court appearance earlier today (May 7, 2019), and is due back in court on June 6, 2019 for arraignment, according to MMA Junkie. During his hearing, Johnson was considered to be “indigent,” and his current address was the same one used by a couple of companies that were formerly owned by the late Glenn Robinson, his former manager.
According to reports, there were no signs of physical abuse on the alleged victim, though she did state that Johnson picked her up and carried her to another room without her consent, and was afraid due to his size and MMA background. Something Johnson didn’t deny, though he says his motives were simply to try and deescalate the situation.
As a condition of his release, Johnson is ordered to stay away from the alleged victim and is not allowed to be in possession of weapons and may not consume alcohol or drugs of any kind.
This is not the first time Johnson has been the center of domestic violence cases, receiving three years of probation for a similar case involving the mother of his children in 2009. He was also tagged with a restraining order in 2014 after being accused of threatening and stalking another woman.
Johnson retired from mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2017 and shifted his focus to the medical marijuana business. He also worked on bulking up his physique in hopes of one day competing as professional body builder.
