Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be shuffling its fight card and televised lineup for the UFC on ESPN 9 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which takes place this Sat. night (May 30, 2020) inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
That’s because Kevin Holland, who competed earlier this month in Jacksonville, suffered an undisclosed injury and was forced to withdraw from the card, according to MMA Junkie. The promotion is currently on the hunt for a replacement.
“Sorry to everyone who was looking forward to the scrap,” Holland wrote on Instagram (via MMA Fighting). “I’ve done this rehab before and I hope to run through it as I did the last time. We will be back. First thing’s first, getting back healthy.”
Holland (17-5) racked up a 4-2 record inside the Octagon following his winning performance on Dana White’s Contender Series back in June 2018. “Trail Blazer” was expected to make his welterweight debut this weekend in “Sin City.”
