Invicta FC is coming back on July 2nd.
Invicta FC is returning to action on July 2nd, per a press release circulated early today. The organization, whose last show was on February 7th, had been on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Headlining Invicta FC 40 is a strawweight bout between Emily Ducote (8-6) and Juliana Lima (10-6). Ducote impressed in her Invicta debut at Invicta FC 36 when she TKO’d Janaisa Morandin. After that win she was matched with Kanako Murata for the vacant Invicta FC strawweight title. She lost that fight via split decision.
Lima fought for the UFC between 2014 and 2018 before debuting with Invicta at 2019’s Invicta FC: Phoenix Series 1. At that event Lima beat Danielle Taylor, but lost to eventual tournament winner Brianna Van Buren.
The co-main event is scheduled to feature Alesha Zappitella (6-2) versus Lindsey VanZandt (7-3) in the atomweight division. Also on the card, DeAnna Bennett (10-6-1) takes on Victoria Leonardo (6-2) and Chelsea Chandler (2-1) fights Olivia Parker (4-0) at 145 lbs.
Rounding out the event is a flyweight fight between Claire Guthrie (1-0) and Laura Anderson (2-0) and a strawweight bout between Genia Goodin (1-0) and Shelby Koren (0-0).
The event is scheduled to take place at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS. It will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass, beginning at 8 PM ET.
