It’s another busy weekend in combat sports, and Invicta FC is here to bring you something special tonight (May 3rd).

From the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, the inaugural “Phoenix Rising” series will commence. Eight women will vie for the vacant strawweight title in a one-night tournament. Unfortunately, MIZUKI and Janaisa Morandin were unable to make weight for this event, so they’ve been replaced by Amber Brown and Manjir Kolekar respectively. Beyond that, the tournament starts off with one-round quarterfinals, and the semifinals will be randomized if there are no finishes. Otherwise the person with the fastest finish gets to choose her opponent. The semis are also one round, followed by a three-round tournament final to crown the winner and thus the champion. Fighters aren’t allowed to compete for more than five-rounds in a single night, hence the final is just three rounds and the other two tournament bouts are a combined two rounds.

As always, you can catch all of the fights live starting at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on UFC Fight Pass. To get yourself better prepped for this event, check out Victor Rodriguez’s event preview.

The full fight card is as follows:

Strawweight Co-Main Event (non-title): Kay Hansen vs. Magdalena Sormova

Strawweight Tournament Reserve: Alyssa Krahn vs. Itzel Esquivel

Strawweight Tournament Quarterfinal: Sharon Jacobson def. Amber Brown via unanimous decision (10-9, 10-9, 10-9)

Strawweight Tournament Quarterfinal: Brianna Van Buren def. Manjit Kolekar by armbar at 3:20 of round 1
