Conor McGregor may not be fighting very often, but he is still raking in the cash.

That’s according to Forbes, who released its annual “Highest Paid Celebrities” list for 2019 on Wednesday (July 10, 2019). According to the publication, “Notorious” banked an estimated $47 million from July 2018 to July 2019.

The majority of that income came from UFC 229, where he took part in Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) highest-selling pay-per-view (PPV) event ever opposite Khabib Nurmagomedov for the Lightweight title. Conor ultimately came up short in his quest to become 155-pound king again, losing to “The Eagle” via submission (see it).

Still, Conor – who earned a base salary of $3 million for headlining the card – banked even more coin after all of the PPV buys were tallied. And though he hasn’t competed since, Conor’s income hasn’t slowed down one bit.

That’s because aside from being the biggest earner in mixed martial arts (MMA), McGregor has a prospering whiskey business, as his Proper No. 12 helped push the whiskey game into billion-dollar territory stateside.

Conor out-earned several prominent athletes, actors and musicians, including MLB’s Bryce Harper (70), pop sensation and actress Jennifer Lopez (76), NFL’s Drew Brees (79), comedian Jerry Seinfeld (83) and even Captain America himself, Chris Evans (73).

Taking the top spot was Taylor Swift, who reportedly raked in a jaw-dropping $185 million dollars for the qualifying time frame. Not surprisingly, McGregor is the only mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter to land on the list.

Conor has been rumored to be making his UFC return sometime in 2019, but aside from a few teases here and there, nothing has been made official as of this writing.

I guess Dana White was right.
