Uh…
Derrick Lewis got back into the win column last night (Sat., May 11, 2024) at UFC St. Louis when he knocked out Rodrigo Nascimento in the third round from inside Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri (watch highlights).
Lewis celebrated his win with his now-normal post-fight ritual of taking off his shorts and protective cup, but this time, he threw his cup into media row where reporters sit.

As Lewis left the cage, the reporter who caught his cup asked “Black Beast” to sign it, and he did.

During the UFC St. Louis post-fight press conference (watch it), the reporter thanked Lewis for his signature: “ Well, first of all, thank you for the cup. It doesn’t smell bad at all.”
Prior to Lewis entering the press conference, the strange cup-loving reporter asked UFC CEO Dana White to sign the cup as well. White was as confused as everyone.
“Uh, I would prefer not to. You were very lucky to catch that, White said with a sarcastic face. “Today was your lucky day. Sure.”

So, strange, gross stuff went down in St. Louis, Missouri, but that’s mixed martial arts for you.
Lewis (28-12-1) is now back in the win column after getting laid on at UFC Sao Paulo. He is 2-1 in his last three fights, all against Brazilians.
