With just six weeks remaining until UFC 156 fight night, the promotion continues to add to the card with a matchup of a UFC lightweight vs. a Strikeforce transfer.

Jacob Volkmann will look to make it seven of his last eight when he takes on Bobby Green at the event, which will emanate from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas during Super Bowl Weekend.

Volkmann personally announced the matchup.

The Minnesotan, who is 15-3 in his career, most recently fought in October, when he defeated Shane Roller via submission.

Green is one of the fighters switching brands after Strikeforce shutters its doors for good after January’s final event. He fought five times for the promotion, going 4-1 with his only loss coming against Gesias Cavalcante. His most recent fight came in August, when he earned a decision win over Matt Ricehouse. That victory forged a four-fight win streak, making his record 19-5.

UFC 156 is shaping up nicely, with an intriguing slate of matchups.

The event is headlined by a featherweight title pitting champion Jose Aldo against challenger Frankie Edgar.

Top supporting acts include Alistair Overeem, who is returning to face Antonio Silva, Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Jon Fitch vs. Demian Maia, and Joseph Benavidez vs. Ian McCall.

The event takes place on Feb. 2.
