“This is the only occasion where he’ll fight a legitimate boxer.”

Boxing fans wanted pugilists like “Iron” Mike Tyson and “Sugar” Shakur Stevenson, among others, to join the “Undisputed” video game roster. Instead, developers added celebrity slugger Jake Paul and one-hit wonder James “Buster” Douglas” to the DLC pack dropping on Dec. 12.

Both Paul and Douglas have registered previous wins over Tyson; albeit under very different circumstances, which makes me wonder if Steel City Interactive (and publisher Deep Silver) are taking a thinly-veiled shot at the 58 year-old Tyson for not joining the “sweet science” lineup.

Either way, fans are losing their sh*t.

Game was already not worth playing but now it’s getting deleted.

This is embarrassing.

Glad no one is buying this trash.

Are you serious? You put Jake Paul in the game before adding anymore ACTUAL boxers? smh.

Mad I can’t uninstall this bullsh*t again I waited for years for this bullsh*t f*ck Undisputed.

FFS, I’d rather put needles in my eyes, I know what you are doing from a marketing point of view but for real boxing fans this is awful.

Paid DLC drops before you’ve fixed the fundamental issues with gameplay, servers and half of the roster being unavailable to use online … is insane.

A small number of commenters praised the “brilliant” addition.

“I’ve been breaking barriers and making history in real life, so it’s only fitting that I bring the same energy to Undisputed,” Paul said in today’s release. “This isn’t just about being in a video game; it’s about inspiring a new generation of fans to step into the ring — virtually and in real life. The Steel City team nailed every detail, from my moves to my swag, and I can’t wait for players to test their skills as ‘El Gallo de Dorado.’ Just like in the real ring, I’m here to take over.”

Here’s the complete DLC breakdown, in addition to Paul:

Pack 1: Mexican Legends
Marco Antonio Barrera
Erik Morales
Juan Manuel Márquez

Pack 2: Hard-Hitting Heavyweights
James “Buster” Douglas
Otto Wallin
Zhilei Zhang

New Outfits:

Each new fighter comes with an alternate outfit. There are also two new cosmetic packs that include alternate outfits for Deontay Wilder, Roy Jones Jr., Sunny Edwards, Terence Crawford, Vasilii Lomachenko and Seniesa Estrada.

In addition to the paid updates for DLC fighters and outfits, all existing and new players will also receive free content and game updates including:

Two brand new “Ring of Fire” outfits for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in anticipation of their rematch in December. Two new venues, new animations for knockouts and knockdowns, movement up and down in weight class for Career Mode, audio and UI changes.

“Undisputed” is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
