“This guy fights and looks like a middle-aged Dutch woman”.

If Ben Askren was trying to intimidate Jake Paul with the heavy bag footage he released earlier this week, he failed miserably.

Paul couldn’t help but laugh at the video and hopes — for Askren’s sake — that ‘Funky’ was trolling in the workout.

“It’s funny, bro. I’m starting to like Ben, oddly enough,” Paul told TMZ in a recent interview (h/t Jordan Ellis of Low Kick MMA). “He’s funny. He’s entertaining me right now. I thought that was hilarious. I thought, ‘Bro, what are you doing?’ Like what is that? And it looks like his hands are so small. It looks like he has tiny hands in that video.”

“Hopefully, he’s just joking,” he added. “Hopefully, he’s just trolling. But Ben’s doing a good job to promote the fight, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’m going to knock him out in one round. This guy fights and looks like a middle-aged Dutch woman.”

Boxing — or striking in general, for that matter — isn’t exactly Askren’s speciality but the former ONE FC and Bellator welterweight champion has a wealth of experience in combat sports. Paul, on the other hand, is 2-0 as a professional boxer but has never fought a fully trained, professional fighter. The YouTube star turned boxer last fought on Nov. 28 on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. where he KO’d ex-NBA player Nate Robinson in the second round. Prior to that, in his boxing debut, Paul TKO’d fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib — real name Ali Loui Al-Fakhri — in the first round.

Askren vs. Paul is scheduled to take place on April 17 at a TBD location.
