James Vick and Niko Price will both look to return to the winning column in October.
James Vick’s welterweight debut has been set.
Vick is scheduled to face Niko Price at UFC Tampa on Oct. 12 in Tampa, Florida, MMA journalist Mike Heck and MMA Junkie both reported Monday. UFC officials have not yet confirmed the pairing.
Vick decided to move up to 170 pounds after three straight losses in the lightweight division. Most recently, the Texas native was knocked out by Dan Hooker in the first round at UFC San Antonio last month. Vick, 32, hasn’t won since an early 2018 decision over Francisco Trinaldo.
Price was last seen in the Octagon at UFC 240 last month; he suffered a knockout loss to rising welterweight prospect Geoff Neal. “The Hybrid” is 2-2 in his past four outings, including highlight-reel stoppages of Tim Means and Randy Brown. Price has only gone to the distance once in his 16-fight pro career.
UFC Tampa is expected to be headlined by a pivotal strawweight bout between former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson.
