The concept of Jason “Mayhem” Miller losing his cool online is nothing new. But the ferocity with which the retired fighter recently went after UFC president Dana White was out of the ordinary even by his own lofty standards.
This particular round of Twitter antagonism started off with a tweet by White which blamed his longtime nemesis, Culinary Union Local 226 in Las Vegas, for the failure of the New York state legislature to pass MMA legalization this year.
I already know why it’s not legal in NY, @danawhite. You keep blocking every attempt at a fighters union, firing everyone who suggests one.

Miller followed with another pair of tweets directed at White.
.@danawhite The unions are headquartered in NYC, and you can’t get in Without bowing your head to them. Your inflated ego won’t allow you…

.@danawhite so you resort to getting smart people to write spin-propaganda, painting them in a bad light, while your monopoly marches on.

White didn’t take Miller’s bait, so Miller instead battled with fans who took exception to his quotes. When one fan not unreasonably pointed out that the UFC, whose main competition, Bellator, is run by a multi-billion dollar media conglomerate, doesn’t exactly fit the definition of a monopoly, Miller lashed out.
@drewhenderson WHEN YOU BUY OUT ALL THE COMPETITION POSSIBLE, LEAVING ONE JANKY SHOW AVAILABLE, AND NO UNION, THAT IS BASICALLY A MONOPOLY.

Finally, Miller got to the heart of the matter with another fan, pointing out the UFC’s insurer refused to pay for a knee surgery which Miller claims occurred in training for a fight, a claim he previously made on The MMA Hour.
@bader3245 yeah, a slave that fights on TV, and when I blow my knee in 1080p, it gets called “pre-existing.”
