Former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos would like a chance to fight on the rumored private island that will hold future UFC events.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos supports the promotions’s president of hosting future events on a private island amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video posted on his social media, ‘Cigano’ explains how excited he would to fight under those conditions, which reminds him of old martial arts movies starring Belgian actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, of whom Cigano is a fan.
“That’s movies stuff. It got me really excited. Anything is possible for those guys. Look where we are, where MMA is going, everything because of that mindset of getting things done. Like I said, it’s like the movies, it’s like that Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, the one where they bring guys from different corners of the world to this island, each one representing a different martial art. It’s the roots of MMA. It’s going to be amazing if it really happens.”
On Twitter, Junior also expressed his opinion when he first learned about the news and the possibility of fighting on an island.
That’s what I’m taking about man
Let’s make it happen Dana

In his last outing, Junior dos Santos (21-7) was TKO’d by Curtis Blaydes back in January, the loss put Cigano on a two-fight skid, with a June 2019 TKO defeat to Francis Ngannou before that. The 36-year-old’s last win happened in March of the same year, when he knocked out Derrick Lewis.
