Joanna Jedrzejczyk offers some words of encouragement to Rose Namajunas following her title defeat to Jessica Andrade at UFC 237.
Rose Namajunas suffered her first loss in almost three years at UFC 237, losing to Brazilian powerhouse Jessica Andrade in the main event at the Jeunesse Area in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Namajunas, 26, was winning the fight convincingly until Andrade slammed her on her head and knocked ‘Thug’ Rose unconscious in the second round, relieving the strawweight queen of her championship duty.
It was Namajunas’ first KO loss inside the Octagon, but the former champ seems to be taking it quite well.
Still, the loss has to sting, and strawweight rival Joanna Jedrzejczyk took to Twitter to send Namajunas some words of encouragement.
Keep ya head up @rosenamajunas You made it to the special league – League of the #UFCCHAMPIONS ? it stays 4ever

“Keep ya head up @rosenamajunas. You made it to the special league – League of the #UFCCHAMPIONS it stays 4ever,” Jedrzejczyk posted in support of Namajunas.
Jedrzejczyk, who lost to Namajunas in two separate title bouts back in 2017 and 2018, also congratulated newly-crowned strawweight champ Andrade on her performance.
“Great performance CHAMP @jessicammapro Congrats! #onamission #ufcchampion,” Joanna posted on Instagram.
Jedrzejczyk hasn’t fought since her decision loss to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 231, where she lost out on the opportunity to win the vacant flyweight title.
