jesse finneyStrikeforce has lost another fighter for its upcoming Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu card in December.

Fresh on the heels of the official announcement that Herschel Walker was forced to withdraw, welterweight Jesse Finney (6-1) has also been scratched from the card due to an eye injury that will require surgery to repair. Finney is expected to return to training after the new year.

Finney was supposed to meet Scott Smith on the card, but Smith was instead given Paul Daley leaving Finney without an opponent.

Now Sherdog.com is reporting that undefeated Tyron Woodley (7-0) may replace Finney at the event. No official announcement has been made as to his participation at the event, but without an official opponent it may be unlikely that Woodley would participate.

Finney was submitted by former UFC fighter Josh Neer in a 175 lbs catchweight bout at a Fight Me MMA event last August. The defeat was his first as a professional fighter after stringing together six straight wins, including two under the Strikeforce promotion. Finney earned submission wins over Justin DeMoney at the “Heavy Artillery” and Josh Bumgarner at the “Lawler vs. Shields” events.

Woodley remains perfect at 7-0 having fought five times for Strikeforce. His last appearance was against Andre Galvao in October’s Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons 2 event. Woodley earned a fist round knockout win over Galvao. He’s defeated Nathan Coy, Rudy Bears, Zach Light, and Sal Woods fighting for Strikeforce.
