A late addition has been made to next week’s UFC 258 pay-per-view.
A short notice lightweight booking is on tap for UFC 258 on February 13th.
MMA Junkie reported on Monday that veterans Jim Miller and Bobby Green have agreed to square off at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas next Saturday. This comes shortly after the card lost Chris Weidman vs. Uriah Hall due to Weidman testing positive for COVID-19.
Miller (32-15-1 NC) has been with the UFC since 2008 and if he does fight next week, he’ll surpass Donald Cerrone for most appearances in UFC history with a whopping 37. The New Jersey native did lose a tough decision in his previous outing against Vinc Pichel at UFC 252, but pulled off an impressive armbar finish of prospect Roosevelt Roberts last June.
Green (27-11-1) saw his three-fight winning streak come to an end in a close decision versus Thiago Moises last October. His otherwise excellent 2020 saw him defeat Clay Guida, Lando Vannata, and Alan Patrick all by unanimous decision. The 34-year-old had retired in 2018 after a loss to Drakkar Klose, but he returned in 2019 against Francisco Trinaldo in a losing effort.
UFC 258 is headlined by a welterweight championship bout between Kamaru Usman and challenger Gilbert Burns. It is unknown what fight will garner co-main status following the postponement of Hall vs. Weidman.
