“If Johnny Walker can not get taken down, then I think he beats Jon Jones. He’s the person who causes the most trouble.”

Johnny Walker is one of the most promising — and exciting — contenders in the UFC light heavyweight division, and many pundits believe the Brazilian could have what it takes to usurp pound-for-pound great Jon Jones.

One man who’s convinced Walker is a nightmare match-up for Jones is former UFC light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa, who recently spoke with BJPenn.com about how Walker could use his height (6 ft 5 in) and reach (82 in) to his advantage.

“I think Johnny Walker will give Jon Jones his best fight,” Manuwa, who retired earlier this year, said. “Jon uses his reach very well against most people. Most of the division is shorter than him, and he has trouble with people that are the same length as him [and] explosive people. If Johnny Walker can not get taken down, then I think he beats Jon Jones. He’s the person who causes the most trouble.”

Walker is currently riding a three-fight, highlight reel KO streak over Khalil Rountree, Justin Ledet and Misha Cirkunov, and is expected to face Corey Anderson at UFC 244 on Nov. 2.

Jones, who is virtually undefeated, recently teased of a ‘big fight announcement’ but has yet to reveal an opponent.
