Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight title contender, Anthony Johnson, was back in the headlines on Monday afternoon after reports surfaced that Palm Beach County Court issued a warrant for “Rumble’s” arrest.

According to Bloody Elbow, Johnson failed to appear for his court hearing on Sept. 27 in regards to his recent misdemeanor domestic battery charge, one that resulted in a plea deal with mandatory anger management classes, as well as a substance abuse evaluation.

Much ado about nothing, according to the now-heavyweight bodybuilder.

“Everyone, I’m okay, nothing is going on,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Media as usual don’t know the facts and what’s true. Nobody did a fact check they just started writing just to get hits. One day someone in the media is gonna regret not putting the facts and yapping just to yap just cuz they read something. Then y’all media clowns are gonna run with your tail between your legs. Watch.”

The “indigent” Johnson was arrested back on May 6 following an altercation with his girlfriend.

Unfortunately for “Rumble,” his name has been attached to several complaints from women over the last few years. After getting arrested in 2009 for an altercation that landed him three years of probation, there was a second incident back in 2014. More recently, Johnson was slapped with a restraining order for “an immediate present danger of dating violence.”

There was talk of bringing Johnson back into the Octagon at some point in 2020, assuming the promotion could find him a suitable opponent at heavyweight. What effect (if any) these latest developments have on those plans remains to be seen.
