UFC 196 may have lost its headliner, but the leftovers were still good enough to populate a major pay-per-view (PPV) card before moving over the the friendly airwaves of FOX Sports 1, which on paper, makes UFC Fight Night 82 a pretty solid event.
See the finalized line up here.
Headlining this Saturday night’s (Feb. 6, 2016) mixed martial arts (MMA) extravaganza is the welterweight showdown pitting Johny Hendricks opposite Stephen Thompson. “Bigg Rigg” (17-3) wants to keep his name atop a very short list of division contenders, while “Wonderboy” (11-1) wants to break into “the mix” by disposing of a former champion.
High stakes for this pairing, which takes place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
With that in mind, it should come as no surprise to see the promotion getting behind this main event as we gear up for fight night. That includes releasing full fight videos for each combatant, highlighting some of their biggest accomplishments inside the Octagon.
First up is Hendricks, who went toe-to-toe with Carlos Condit at UFC 158 in 2013.
That win was good enough to get “Bigg Rigg” a crack at Georges St. Pierre.
Next up is Thompson, who made his UFC debut in style with a brutal first-round head kick over Daniel Stittgen at UFC 143 in early 2012.
Ouch!
