Jones, who hasn’t competed since a February 2020 decision win over Dominick Reyes, was in Vegas for the induction of his first bout with Alexander Gustafsson into the fight wing of the UFC Hall of Fame. He’s otherwise been out of action while both looking for an improved contract as well as acclimating his body for an impending move to heavyweight.
The 34-year-old Jones has had an extraordinarily lengthy history of legal trouble while in the UFC, including a hit-and-run collision that saw him stripped of his title back in 2015. His most recent arrest occurred in March of last year when he was booked on aggravated DWI as well as negligent use of a firearm. That particular incident was recorded on police body cam, and he would later plead guilty to the DWI charge and avoid jail time altogether.
