Jon Jones may be embracing the hate after all.

Hours before his controversial and ill-fated title defense against Dan Henderson would’ve taken place on Saturday, Jones took to Twitter to toss out one last swipe at his former opponent, essentially blaming Henderson for the cancellation of UFC 151.

In response to a jab from a fan — “Thanks to (Jon Jones) I have no plans tonight” — the young UFC light heavyweight champion cheekily replied, “Thanks to the old man and his knee I don’t either.”

Of course, the old man in question is 41-year-old Henderson, who withdrew from UFC 151’s main event eight days out due to an MCL tear in his knee. Jones notoriously rejected a replacement bout against Chael Sonnen, which led UFC President Dana White to cancel the entire event and throw Jones under the bus, issuing a scathing press release that dubbed UFC 151 as “the event Jon Jones and Greg Jackson murdered.”

Jones later apologized for the event’s mishandling, writing on Twitter, “Carrying the cross for my company’s decision. If someone has to take the blame, I will accept full responsibility for the way UFC 151 was canceled.”

Jones’ latest remarks, however, probably won’t help the vocal contingency of fans already questioning the sincerity of that apology.
