Jon Jones was due for court for recent traffic violations on Wednesday, but his hearing has been delayed until March.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was due to appear at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court in Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday for his hearing for multiple traffic charges. However, Jones pleaded not guilty and was given a waiver by a judge allowing him to skip his scheduled hearing, MMAjunkie.com reported. He was allowed to do so to avoid an arraignment hearing because he already submitted a plea, per Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court spokesperson Camille Baca.
The former titleholder is now due in court on March 23.
Jones was pulled over on Jan. 31 for unknown reasons, and was later cited for driving without a license and no proof of registration and insurance.
Albuquerque’s district attorney office already ruled out a potential parole violation, but he received three days of community service from The New Mexico Corrections Department, which monitors Jones as he is currently serving 18 months of supervised probation.
Jones was apart of a hit-and-run accident that involved a pregnant woman, last April.
He is set to challenge champion Daniel Cormier in a highly anticipated rematch at UFC 197 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 23. His latest charges will not affect the scheduled matchup with Cormier.
