BetOnline has the opening odds for the UFC 239 main, co-main events.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently announced the main and co-main events for its upcoming UFC 239 pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza, scheduled for Sat., July 6, 2019 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Leading the charge will be light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who makes his second title defense following last December’s return to picograms mixed martial arts (MMA). Hoping to pull the sword from the proverbial stone is veteran 205-pound bruiser, Thiago Santos.
“Bones” opened at -800 to +575 for “Marreta.” Jones (24-1, 1 NC) is widely considered the top pound-for-pound fighter in MMA while Santos (21-6) is known for his lights-out power, evidenced by his 15 knockout victories.
In the UFC 239 co-headliner, Amanda Nunes returns from the featherweight division — where she planished Cris Cyborg to become the promotion’s latest “champ champ” — to defend her 135-pound strap against former bantamweight champion, Holly Holm.
“Lioness” starts as the -320 favorite to +260 for “The Preacher’s Daughter.” It should be noted that Holm (12-4) is just 2-4 since murdering Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 back in late 2015, while Nunes (17-4) has captured eight straight wins.
UFC 239 will cap off International Fight Week in Las Vegas, so no question the fight card will add more firepower as the weeks go on.
Stay tuned.
