Jones tells UFC to ‘send the deal’ for Ngannou fight

Jon Jones is adamant about fighting Francis Ngannou.

For the past week, reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has tested the waters for a potential move to heavyweight, teasing of a ‘big money fight’ against Cameroonian knockout artist Francis Ngannou.

UFC president Dana White isn’t sure whether to take Jones seriously but the pound-for-pound No. 1 is adamant about fighting Ngannou in his next bout.

Jones has urged the UFC to ‘send the deal’ and looks forward to proving his doubters wrong.

“Send The Deal,” Jones posted in his first Tweet, followed by a video post of long time rival Daniel Cormier crediting ‘Bones’ for his bold callout.

“Some of you have been waiting to see me lose for over a decade, now finally you stick me in there with a giant with your mouthwatering. Maybe you’ll see what you’ve been waiting for for years, maybe you won’t. The question is how much are you willing to pay to see it?” he said.

“That’s me right before the OSP fight. That was the biggest I had ever been and actually my first fight fighting under USADA‘s guidelines. I was 240 pounds in that picture, right around the weight I’ll probably be when I win the heavyweight championship of the world,” Jones posted in another Tweet, demonstrating that he is quite capable of bulking up in preparation for Ngannou.

Jones capped off his night with the following inspirational Tweet.

“Everyone will call you crazy until you pull it off. Remember that young people,” he wrote.

Jones hasn’t fought since UFC 247, where he beat Dominick Reyes via controversial unanimous decision to retain his light heavyweight title. Ngannou, 33, has won his last four bouts via first-round KO and is ranked #2 in the UFC heavyweight division.
