Press Release – TORONTO, October 17th, 2012 –The Score Fighting Series (SFS) today announced a high-octane clash between Jordan “Young Gun” Mein and Forrest “The Meat Cleaver” Petz as the main event for its next live show on Friday, November 23rd in Hamilton, Ontario.

Fireworks are expected for the welterweight bout, with the match-up likely to kick-start a third consecutive sellout at the Hamilton Place Theatre.

A seven-time UFC veteran, Petz (25-9) is on a four-fight winning streak, with his last victory coming in a spectacular clash against Sergej Juskevic in March – a bout which many believe to be the best ever seen inside the SFS cage. In that fight, the Cleveland, Ohio, native eventually forced a TKO stoppage in the second round after a phenomenal comeback which saw him survive a knockdown and a flurry of punches and knees from Juskevic.

A fearsome striker who has earned almost half his wins via KO or TKO, Petz said he was looking forward to facing-off against Mein, who also has a reputation as a finisher.

“I think Mein is a tough dude with a lot of skill,” he said. “It’s a fun match up for SFS fans because neither of us plays around in there. I’m the best I’ve ever been right now and a win over Jordan ought to turn some heads. ”

Currently training out of the Canadian Martial Arts Centre in his hometown of Lethbridge, Alberta, Mein (25-8) will be looking to make it four-in-a-row at the SFS when he enters the cage next month.

Canadian MMA fans have already seen Mein post increasingly impressive victories on theScore over Joe Riggs, Josh Burkman and Marius Zaromskis.

Mein is on loan to the SFS from Strikeforce where he is currently 2-1 – including a brutal finish of Evagelista “Cyborg” Santos.

SFS promoter Brendan Fyfe says the bout between Mein and Petz is exactly the kind of fight that MMA fans can expect from the series.

“Jordan Mein is part of the next generation fighters we’re looking to showcase,” he said. “He is entertaining, well-rounded and always looks for the toughest opponents. He will definitely have that in Forrest Petz, who loves to engage and is tougher than a coffin nail.”

Other fighters expected to be on the card include SFS fan favourites Josh Hill, Jesse Ronson, Will Romero, Alex Ricci and Ryan Dickson. Opponents for all are pending commission approval.

The main card will be televised live in Canada on theScore Television Network and in the US on AXS TV beginning 10:00pm EST. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.ca from Friday, October 19th.
