Looks like Stephen A. Smith got the last laugh.

The combat sports community panned the ESPN talking head for this recent footage released on Twitter, featuring Smith hard at work on his striking. Ya’ know, just in case he runs into Joe Rogan in a dark alley or something.

But all the jokes from the mixed martial arts (MMA) community came to a screeching halt when they realized that reigning welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, could do no better. At least that was the impression given by Jorge Masvidal in the video above.

Usman is expected to make his next title defense against “Gamebred” at the upcoming UFC 252 pay-per-view (PPV) event in July, though it appears their rivalry is already underway. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.

“We’re working on it,” Masvidal told Submission Radio. “We gotta get the numbers from the UFC. They’re a very smart company, and they gotta pay us if they want that type of entertainment.”
