Jorge Masvidal wasn’t too happy about Kevin Lee’s critique of the “BMF” title.
Not too many people are fans of the “baddest motherf—r” title fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz at UFC 244. One of them is Kevin Lee, who was candid about his thoughts in a recent MMA Junkie interview.
Lightweight was starting to get a lot more momentum going, especially after the way Khabib (Nurmagomedov) beat Dustin (Poirier) the way that he did, and there’s so many moving parts. Welterweight has kind of gotten a little stagnant. They’re doing this new title now that Masvidal and Diaz are fighting for. It’s kind of a little boys title.
They should have made a 165-pound title if they’re going to make another one. I mean, I hate to beat a dead horse like that, but because there was so little movement up there (welterweight), and my body naturally just wanted to go back down to 155, so I feel like this is the right move to do.
“Gamebred” immediately got word of Lee’s comments via Twitter, which he issued a response to.
I don’t usually address my haters but for this IG influencer who couldn’t cut it SHUT THE F**K UP. Don’t like it? Come see me #fruitloops https://t.co/UfAYyxXwj3

“The Motown Phenom” made his welterweight debut in May against former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and lost via fourth round submission. This week, he announced his return to lightweight, claiming the 170-pound division has “gotten a little stagnant.”
Lee is scheduled to face Gregor Gillespie at UFC 244, headlined by Masvidal and Diaz. It takes place on November 2nd at Madison Square Garden.
